Approximately 40 individuals with interest and expertise in the area of Model-Based Enterprise (MBE) gathered at the Holiday Inn San Antonio Riverwalk, San Antonio, Texas in mid-November to discuss and exchange ideas for creating model-based standards and supporting tools. On November 13th members of the MBE Standards Committee gave overview presentations on the direction and goals of the MBE Standards Committee and its Working Groups (WG). Several members of the WGs were also invited to share their experience in related technical projects. All the public presentations are available at: https://projects.mbe.institute/documents/13.

The three WGs that met on November 13th and 14th include the Use Cases and Model Based Standards Development (MBSD) WG, Terms WG, and Near-Term Strategy WG. The Use Cases and MBSD WG investigated initial use cases and evaluated tools to develop a focused plan for standards development methodologies. The Terms WG identified and defined several terms in MBE. The Near-Term Strategy WG brainstormed issues impeding understanding and industrial adoption of MBE today and ideas for MBE standards activity.

The MBE Framework WG is being formed and seeking new members. This WG will be tasked with providing a high-level structural definition of MBE.
